Hey there, welcome to today’s post focusing on an ombre embossing technique. The ombre effect is quite popular, often seen with stamping, distress inks/oxides and watercolouring. I was inspired to try out ombre embossing as a result of WOW! Embossing Powders July Challenge: Multicolour embossing. […]
Hello and welcome to today’s post! Today I am highlighting this ‘all embossed’ card I created with a monochromatic colour scheme. Initially I was inspired to try and make an Art Deco style card, hence why I choose the black and gold colour scheme. However, […]
Can you believe it is April already! Where is the time going? However, with April comes a new magazine of Docrafts Creativity and this issue featured the new Project Design Team 2017 annoucement, so that was great to see a little picture of me in a magazine. It will be a fun crafty year designing for them! Today I am showing you a really easy and quick card which you can change up and personalise to any occasion and is easy to reproduce. Stamping tone on tone can highlight a background pattern without it overbearing on the main feature of the card.
I recently got a few items through the post that I had order from Amazon ages ago, but took a while to arrive as they were coming from overseas. For the cheaper prices I was willing to wait! The main item I used for this card was a background 6″ x 6″ cling stamp, my first background stamp. It was really easy to use, and gave a really interesting background when I combined it with distress inks. Using embossing powder and heat setting this before distress inks are applied, allows the embossing to resist the inks and keep the look of the background stamp.
Whilst I was out in town I visited Abakhan, which if you are into sewing is a great shop for a wide range of fabrics. In addition, they also stock some other items for various different crafts and whilst I was in there I stumbled across some double sided adhesive tape sheets by Stix 2. I have seen double sided tape sheets being used in various different projects, though the brand always used or mentioned is usually Stick it! rather than what I had found. Although not the same brand, I wanted to get some to give it ago and see how I could use it.
Recently I have enjoyed experimenting around with watercolours to create interesting backgrounds. A few weeks ago I wanted to spruce up my living room and whilst I was in Tescos I saw some carnations on sale. I really like how carnations can have several colours […]
On my commute to work I usually pass the time on the train by watching various craft videos on Youtube. Yesterday I came across a video Jennifer McGuire did on Watercolour lifting with heat embossing and thought it looked such a great technique I had […]
As you have probably guessed with the amount of posts I have done recently I am quite into foiling, and the more ways the merrier! It is amazing how much a bit of foil can transform a project and is often quite simple to do. […]
Today I am going to show you how to make a quick and simple thank you card that looks quite effective. I am using part of the embossing die cut technique from this previous post to use the dies to emboss the card with the […]
