Capsule Elements Wood Scrapbook layout – Docrafts PDT Project
Hi, and welcome to today's post! Yesterday, I had an exciting moment. Docrafts posted my first project as a Design Team member onto their blog! Technically, this is my third project - my other two are Father’s Day related. It will be a few weeks before those go up on the blog!
I should admit it took me awhile to get this layout down. The amount of times I changed it, added more photos, and then removed was endless. However, once I had settled on this one photo the page just started to flow.
I really liked using layers of the Capsule Elements Wood papers to build up the background. To add further detail and contrast I dabbed ink on the edges and hand drew borders around the papers. The black card helped to give further contrast between pale papers and lifted elements up off the paper to your eye.
The part I enjoyed the most was adding embellishments, particularly embossing die cuts and wooden letters. This gave a more glam look to the rustic style. The copper powder really blended in well, complementing the colour scheme. To give the die cuts the 3D look as seen below, I embossed each element 3-4 times giving a lovely smooth and raised finish.
