Brutus Monroe: Featuring Monster Party Stamp

Hey, good to see you have popped by. A few things have changed with Brutus Monroe, all for the better though! I will be bringing you two posts a week using the fabulous products from Brutus Monroe, one of which will feature a particular stamp set each week – this will feature on a Wednesdays. All the team will be posting a project on Wednesday using the same stamp set, so you will get loads of inspiration on how to use it! This weeks stamp is the Monster Party stamp*.

There are several adorable monsters in this stamp set, and several different sentiments for you to create an array of projects. Today, I created this fun and easy to mass produce party invite. So, if you little monster is having a party, this is just for you. What’s more, I used the Ultra Fine Embossing powder in Raven to add some gloss and colour to some wooden letters.

Monster Party stamp Card details

To start off, you will need to stamp a selection of monsters from the Monster Stamp set onto some watercolour card. The detailed Raven Ink is waterproof when dry, so is great for watercolouring. I also stamped a few of the balloons to colour in too. Once dry, colour in your images – I used a selection of Zig Clean Colour Real brush pens (see below for colours).

Whilst the images were drying, I added some embossing ink to some wooden letters from my craft stash. I smooshed each letter into the Embossing Ink pad to get a good coating. Remember to apply the ink to the front of the letter! I then coated these in Raven Ultra Fine Embossing Powder and heat set. For a nice smooth and high glossy finish, I repeated this several times.

To complete the sentiment, I just used the word ‘Monster’ by masking of the rest of the words in the stamp with post-it notes. This was stamped onto a scrap of white card in Raven Detailed ink and mounted onto a piece of black card.

To assemble the card, I clustered three monsters into one corner of the card panel and foam mounted the front monster to add depth. I added a little shading underneath each monster to ground them.  For a more realistic look, I added black thread to the balloons which were foam mounted onto the card panel.  The embossed sentiment was adhered to the card with Brutus Monroe Craft glue and the smaller sentiment was foam mounted. Lastly, the whole panel was adhered to a black card base.

Did you like this project? Why not pin it and save for later? It will be there for when you need it!
